Law Enforcement Guidelines
How police and other authorities can ask us for information.
- Version 1.0
- Effective October 29, 2026
- For: Law enforcement and government authorities
In short
- These guidelines are for law enforcement and other government authorities who want information from TeamALA Ltd Liability Co.
What we hold, and what we do not
1.1 We hold very little. We never collect users' passwords, email addresses (except an owner's optional notice address), birth dates, real names, locations or payment details.
1.2 We do not keep screening findings.
1.3 Our Privacy Notice lists everything we do hold, and how long we keep it. Many records are short-lived:
- (a) sessions: 7 days;
- (b) role caches: 15 minutes;
- (c) the screening access log: 90 days;
- (d) the audit log: 365 days.
How to send a request
2.1 Send requests to legal@teamala.org, from an official government email address, or by post to 30 N Gould St, Suite 70028, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.
2.2 Include:
- (a) the requesting authority;
- (b) the officer's name and contact details;
- (c) the legal basis;
- (d) the Roblox or Discord user ID, community name or short-link address concerned; and
- (e) the time period.
United States legal process
3.1 We disclose:
- (a) basic subscriber records in response to a valid subpoena;
- (b) other non-content records in response to a court order under 18 U.S.C. section 2703(d); and
- (c) contents only in response to a search warrant,
as the Stored Communications Act requires.
3.2 We may notify the user before disclosing, unless the law or a court order prohibits it, or notice would put someone at risk.
Requests from outside the United States
4.1 Non-U.S. authorities should use a mutual legal assistance treaty, letters rogatory, or another mechanism that U.S. law recognises.
4.2 We may answer directly where the law allows, for example in an emergency, or under an agreement made under the CLOUD Act.
Emergencies
5.1 If you believe someone faces an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury, email legal@teamala.org with "EMERGENCY" in the subject line, and explain the danger.
5.2 We may disclose information voluntarily where we believe in good faith that the emergency requires it (18 U.S.C. section 2702(b)(8) and (c)(4)).
5.3 Under the EU Digital Services Act (Article 18), we tell authorities in the EU when we become aware of information suggesting a crime involving a threat to life or safety.
Preservation
We preserve specific records for 90 days on receipt of a valid preservation request (18 U.S.C. section 2703(f)), and extend this once on request.
Child safety
We report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC, and, where the law requires, to the UK National Crime Agency. NCMEC shares reports with law enforcement.
Transparency
We keep a record of every request, and of what we did with it. We will publish totals once we receive requests.
